The day I decided I wanted to try to be a Mobile Azalea Trail Maid, I was at a dance recital where one of my friends who was a current maid was having an appearance in her peach dress! Her mom came up to me and asked if I was going to try out my junior year. I told her no because I didn’t think I was smart or talented enough. To be totally honest, I lacked so much confidence in myself. She told me that I was and that all I needed was a little help, she insisted I contact Ashley’s Azaleas!
Being a first generation Trail Maid, I knew nothing about how long the process was and what to learn. Ashley taught me everything I needed to know whether it was history, current events, poise, how to make judges remember you, or even how to sit in a chair. Not only did Ashley teach me great interview skills and the culture of Mobile, she also taught how to be proud of myself no matter what. I have truly gained so much confidence from her.
Ashley is the most fun and uplifting coach I have ever had. She’s has always been one of my biggest fans and even now she still is! Without Ashley I truly don’t know where I would be right now.
